Mini Valentine Snowman 🍭❤️ Crochet Pattern (2 versions)

General Crochet Abbreviation:

-Ls: left side
-Rs: right side
-Ws: wrong side
-Ct: center
-Beg: beginning
-; ; : complete stitches between ; & ; in same stitch
-, , : complete stitches in separate stitches
-* * : repeat actions as many times as indicated by the “x#” or until the end of the row
-# stitches: e.g. 2 sc make a sc into the next two stitches
-#stitches: e.g. 3sc make 3 single crochets into same stitch
-Ch: chain
-Ch-sp: chain space

-LS: left side

-RS: right side

-ctr: center
-Mc: magic circle
-Sl st: slip stitch
-Sc: single crochet
-Tr: triple/treble crochet
-Dc: double crochet
-Hdc: half double crochet
-Flo: front loop only
-Blo: back loop only

-Bob: bobble stitch
-Fp: front post
-Bp: back post
-Inc: make two stitches into same stitch (increases number of stitches by 1)
-Dec (invisible): sc by hooking into flo of the next two stitches stitches (decreases number of stitches by 1)
-Sk st: skip stitch
-Yo: yarn over
-Yu: yarn under
-Sts: stitch(s)

-Fasten off: cut yarn and pull tail through loop (if fastening off a circle, first thread needle and weave through Flo, pull tight to close, continue with fasten off)

*Some rows may have extra stitches- for example not enough stitches to complete the instructions ie. only two stitches for: sc, inc – sc the extra stitches or go into the next row depending on required stitches for that row.

-Fasten off and weave in ends.

Eyes:

In black, embroider eyes using French knots between rows 13 & 14, 6 stitches between eyes.

Nose Option A:

In orange,

-Ch 4, sl st into 2nd back hump from hook, sc, sc (3)

-Sew onto face

Nose Option B:

In orange,

-Ch 3, sl st into 2nd back hump from hook, sc (2)

*For a more 3d look: make two noses,
sew together, stuff lightly

Buttons Option A:

In black,

-Embroider buttons using French knots.

-Place eyes in the center of the body, between rows 4 & 5, 6 & 7 and rows 7 & 8 .

Buttons Option B:

-Make 3 circles – 4 sc into mc, sl st to first sc

-Fasten off and sew or tie to body

Arms (make 2) Option A:

In brown,

-Ch 8,

-sl st 2 (first finger),

-ch 4, sl at 3 ( 2nd finger),

-sl st 4

-Fasten off.

-Sew onto the sides of the snowman overtop of row 8.

Arms adoption B:

-Sl st and pull through both tails between rows 6 & 7.

-Make a knot (with both yarn tails) at end of arm length & fluff tail.

-Trim tails and fluff.

Scarf Option A:

In light pink,

1: ch 51,

Attach darker pink,

2- sc across

-Fasten off and trim tails.

Scarf Option B:

Using thin chenille yarn

1: ch 51

-Fasten off and trim tails.

Hat option A:

Hat Brim:

1: ch 4, turn

2-13: 3 sc in blo, ch, turn g3)

-Sl st to attached to otherside (so it’s a circle).

-Fasten off.

Hat:

In light pink,

1: 7 in a mc (7)
2: inc (14)

3: sc (14)
4: sc, inc (21)

5: sc (21)

6: inc, 2 sc (28)

7 & 8: sc (28)

9: hdc (28)

-Fasten off and weave in ends.

-Sew brim to bottom of hat.

Hat Pom Pom (added at end)

In dark pink,

-Make a small Pom Pom (I wrapped the yarn thickly around my two fingers , tight a knot tightly in the centre, cut the loops and trimmed it).

-Attach Pom Pom to the top of the hat, tie off and trim tails.

Hat option B:

Using thin chenille yarn

Pomp Pom:

Using Pom Pom colour,

1: 6 sc in a mc (6)

2: 6 inc (12)

3 & 4: sc (12)

5: dec (6)

Stuff

Hat:

Switch to hat colour,

6: inc (12)
7: sc, inc (18)

8: inc, 2 sc (28)

9 & 10: sc (28)

Hat brim:

Switch to Pom Pom colour,

11: sc (28)

-Fasten off and weave in ends.
