Lamb Easter Basket Crochet Pattern 🐑

General Abreviations:
-Ls: left side
-Rs: right side
-Ct: center
-;    ; : complete stitches between ; & ; in same stitch
-# stitches: e.g. 2 sc make a sc into the next two stitches
-Mc: magic circle
-Sl st: slip stitch
-Sc: single crochrt
-Tr: triple crouchet
-Dc: double crochet
-Hdc: half double crochet
-Blo: back loop only

-Flo: front loop only
-Inc: make two stitches into stitch (increases number of stitches by 1)
-#stitches: e.g. 3sc make 3 single crochets into same stitch
-Dec: sc by hooking into flo of the next two stitches stitches (decreases number of stitches by 1)

-Sk st: skip stitch
-Yo: yarn over


Materials:
– White bulky chennelle yarn A

-Pink medium acrylic yarn B
– 6 mm hook

-2 saftey eyes and a saftey nose (or embroider ones)

-sissors

-yarn needle

Pattern:

Basket:

Using yarn A
1: MC 6 sc (6)
2: inc (12)
3: inc, sc (18)
4: inc, sc, sc (24)
5: inc, sc, sc, sc (30)
6: blo (30)
7-13: sc (30)

Handel:
1: sc, sc turn
2: sc (into last stitch), sc, sc, sc turn (4)
3-27: repeat row 2
-Sl st in each handel stitch, through the handel and into the opposite side of the basket
-Weave in ends

LAMB:

Hair:

-Complete 4 Puff stitches each, ending with a picot point, between the handels

Puff stitch: *yarn over, insert stitch in next stitch, yarn over and pull through, yarn over and pull through 2 loops* 5 times and yarn over and pull through all the loops; ¹

Picot skip at the end of the puff stitch: chain 3 and sl st into botttom of first slip stitch

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Ears (make two of each part):

White outer part

1: Chain 5

2: Double crochet into 2nd chain from hook and across chain; 3 double crochets into last chain, turn

3: Double crochet in each stitch across

-fasten off and cut thread leaving a long tail

Pink part of war:

1: Chain 5

2: SC into 2nd chain form hook and across chain; 3 SC into last chain, turn

3: SC in each stitch across

-fasten off and cut short thread, waeve in tail

Place pink part in fornt of and at the bottom of white part and use tail to invisible sew in pink part

Fold both in half and sew onto basket between handel and hair (overlap hair a bit if desired)


Face:
-Place eyes between rows 9 & 10, 5 stitches from either handel, leaving 4 stitches in between the eyes
-Put the nose 1 row down and centered between eyes.

*if the holes in the basket are too big, cut a square from a plastic container and put a hole in the center, putting this on before the back of the aaftwy will prevent the eye fro. Pulling through the front
