Star for Mini Tree Crochet Pattern 🌟

Altered from: https://www.elisascrochet.com/post/star-tree-topper-free-crochet-pattern
Use sport yarn and 1.90 mm hook
Follow the pattern for all parts of the star but only to the rows indicated:
-Base (make 1, follow pattern as written)
–Small Points (make 4, follow pattern for rows 1-7 and then finish off)
-Long Point (make 1, follow pattern for rows 1-15 and then finish off)
PUTTING IT TOGETHER:
Attach and crochet middle-as per pattern or follow the instructions below.
You will be connecting and sc across all of the parts. You will do this for both the front and back of the star.
-cut tails short and weave in
-attach yarn where next to where the tail would be on long point and sc across row (half of the circle, do not go all the way around)
-sc next to where the tail would be on one of the small points and sc across row (half of the circle, do not go all the way around)
-sc next to where the tail would be on one of the small points and sc across row (half of the circle, do not go all the way around)
-sc next to where the tail would be on the base and sc across row (half of the circle, do not go all the way around)
-sc next to where the tail would be on one of the small points and sc across row (half of the circle, do not go all the way around)
-sc next to where the tail would be on one of the small points and sc across row (half of the circle, do not go all the way around)
-Continue to crochet in the round. There are two looks. One has a point that pushes out, and one has an indent. You can do one of each or choose one and do it for both the front and back.
For a middle that pushes out slightly (see pic 1 above):
SC around until you hit the stitch before the stitch that attaches the two pieces.
Decrease sc3tog (single crochet 3 stitches together). Do this at each joint around.
Repeat for each round until you are down to the last round (with a smallish hole), then using a needle close using the front loops and pull through the middle closing the hole.
For a middle that dents in (see pic 2 above):
SC around until you hit the stitch attaching the two pieces and then decrease (sc2tog). Do this at each joint around. Repeat for wach Round until you are down to the last round (with a smallish hole), then using a needle close using the front loops and pull through the middle closing the hole and creating the dent.
Complete both sides. Stuffing lightly before you close up the 2nd side.
Sew in tails.
